If It Is Good Enough For Obama...

than I had to try it out.

I love pizza. It is one of my comfort foods. And living in St. Louis, I have a lot of kinds at my fingertips. Granted, I will say that nothing top New York style pizza in New York City itself, but there are some that come damn close.

So when a friend of mine called me up and asked me to go for pizza, she and I both knew I couldn't refuse. I had been wanting to try a pizza place out for awhile that Obama had raved about so much, he actually ordered pizza from this restaurant and had it delivered to the White House. Granted to say, being a Chicago politician, Chicago didn't take it all that well.

The place is Pi in the Delmar Loop. The best piece of advice that I can give you is get there about an hour before you want to eat. It is worth the wait, but that is exactly what you are going to be doing...waiting. It wasn't too bad though, only about 20 minutes for a table and than the deep dish takes about 25-35 minutes to get to your table.

I love that you can make your own pizza. I had the deep dish (amazing cornmeal crust) with mozzarella, gorgonzola, pepperoni and roasted garlic. Can you say yummy!! I also had the bada bing salad to start things off. The small was the perfect size to spilt between two people. I was afraid that is maybe too sweet, but it wasn't. The cheese gave it just that little tang that kept it from going over to the too sweet side. And I finished up with the vanilla bean ice cream. Can you say delicious! Everything was very reasonably priced as well. Two people with tip for under $50.

And I would like to mention that they had a nice selection or beer on tap. I had my first pint of Mothership Wit and think I have found my new fav beer!

I will be back again to try something new on my next deep dish!!!
